And I have been to Kansas City before throughout my travels here on planet earth.  And this time it was for a funeral that I visited that 8-Square-Mile “Murder Factory” zip code of 64130 that I saw the People’s City at Occupy City Hall Kansas City from the bus from the airport where protesters and activists were camping out on the Kansas City, City Hall lawn, that I find myself blogging about.  And in the midst of a panicdemic and going to that funeral and listening to His Eye Is On The Sparrow and Stairway to Heaven at the service, it was also an attempt to vend those Black Lives Matter necklaces, magnets, key chains & pins and display those your thoughts on black lives matter banners at J.C. Nichols Fountain .  There has been protests at the Country Club Plaza to rename Kansas City’s J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain. J.C. Nichols use of “restrictive covenants”—barring African-Americans from buying or renting homes in his subdivisions are to blame for the stark segregation and racial divides that still exist throughout the metro.

And everyone was at the Kansas City Chiefs game, a drum circle was going on,  a barbecue was later and a Blue Lives Matter rally was on the way that day at Occupy City Hall Kansas City.  The great reset, new world order temperature checks required for entry.

And according to The Pitch, The KC Coalition for Black Lives includes Black Rainbow, La Chingona Collective, Liberty Lawyers, Operation Liberation, Miller Dream LLC, It’s Time 4 Justice, White Rose KC, Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Urban League and Sunrise Movement KC.

And the flyer that I picked up from The People’s City reception table read:

“KC: The city of killer cops

The people demand justice

Why we’re occupying city hall

On September 30th, Deja Stallings, at nine months pregnant, was assaulted by KCPD, the video that surfaced is one in a long line of brutal police attacks on black and brown people in Kansas City

We are occupying because we have had enough. Deja’s case is not an isolated event; black women like Deja are some of the most marginalized and endangered people in our society and shouldn’t have to live in fear of being attacked by the police.

We know that abolition is the path to transformative justice. We fight to live in a world where black lives are truly affirmed, protected and liberated.

The Demands

1. Fire Chief Rick Smith and officer Newton who brutalized Deja.

2, Fire all officers who have killed black victims in Kansas City

3. Divest 50% from KCPD’s $273 million budget

4. Reinvest the KCPD budget into resources that support the black community including education, healthcare and housing.

How Can You Help?

– Occupying with us outside of city hall

– Bring the occupiers supplies such as food, water & blankets

– Donate to local groups like Black Rainbow and the KC Community Bail Fund

– Email BOPC@kcpd.org & demand they vote to terminate Rick Smith

– SPREAD THE WORD

“Join XR NYC THIS SEPTEMBER!  EXTINCTION REBELLION is a global nonviolent movement working to compel the world’s government to address the climate & ecological emergency.”
Those are part of the words on a SEPTEMBER 9/7 REBELLION flyer that I received this past weekend, when I attempted to vend those DecorForU Black Lives Matter, S#!t Just Got Real, Not My President, Occupy Wall Street, Yoga, No Police State, Museum of Reclaimed Urban SpaceWashington Square Park, Brooklyn and I Love New York necklaces, magnets, key chains and pins for $2 each next to extinction rebellion‘s extinction rebellion NYC Rebel Fest Gathering event at Washington Square Park this past weekend.  And the description of their event invite reads like as follows:

REBEL FEST
Sunday, August 30, 2020 1:00 PM 5:00 PM
Washington Square Park 5th Ave & Washington Square N
New York, NY, 10012 United States

WE WANT TO LIVE… IN A MORE BEAUTIFUL WORLD.

You are invited to Rebel Fest! Together, we will reclaim our power by openly and joyfully defying the current systems of oppression and creating the more beautiful world we want.
Join us as we gather in community, have fun, make art, share food, and inspire each other!

Schedule of events: 1pm – Gather in the park near the fountain. Enjoy snacks, mingle, and make art

2pm – Kickoff to the Rebellion. Get to know your fellow Rebels and hear more about the exciting new campaign demanding REAL democracy here in NYC!

Please bring some light snack food to share, if you’d like and are able!

Please wear a mask and observe proper physical distancing. We will have hand sanitizer and some PPE to share.

And extinction rebellion NYC seems to have extinction rebellion NYC events on what seems like a daily basis in the New York City area to save the environment and save the world.

You can also join their XR community for weekly virtual, playful, regenerative dance parties as well. Everyone’s welcome!

And I am not exactly sure what extinction rebellion is, though I have seen those extinction rebellion flyers around on light poles in the streets of New York City the past year or so, and I could only figure out that the extinction rebellion symbol had something to do with climate change and saving humanity from extinction, from disappearing off the face of the planet, though I think it is Albert Einstein who once said that if the bee disappeared off the face of the earth, man would have only four years left to live. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.

And there is also a How Green Is My City Exhibition Tour at Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space – MORUS, that radical history museum in New York City’s Lower East Side, September 25th 6pm.
This exhibition is led by the director of Green Maps. The exhibition is brought to you through a special partnership between the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space (MoRUS) and the Green Map System, and also an Opening with Live Virtual Tour: How Green Is My City? September 6th.  In the basement level of MoRUS, explore a special temporary exhibit featuring photos, art, and barricades from the recent Black Lives Matter demonstrations. “Plywood Windows of SoHo: Black Lives Matter” is curated by James Hong with photographs by Hong and George Hirose. The partial Marsha P. Johnson mural is done by street artist Captain Eyeliner (instagram: @captain_eyeliner).

And some of those photos from this extinction rebellion REBEL FEST day at Washington Square Park, find themselves posted in those photos and videos above. Join the September 9/7 Rebellion. To all the good samaritans in New York City and beyond. Thank You. #climatechangeisreal #blacklivesmatter

And so I came across this Occupy Wall Street 2016 event at Zuccotti Park in facebookland the other day and found myself at this event just yesterday, an event where there seemed to be more polizei in attendance than people, in an attempt to vend those DecorForU #berniesanders, #blacklivesmatter and #occupywallstreet necklaces, magnets, key chains and pins or $1 each at this event that was systematically shut down years ago. And Occupy Wall Street and that all things police brutality and beyond movements Black Lives Matter are still moving fast as in those photos and videos that find themselves posted above. And that Occu – Evolve schedule for that Occupy Wall Street 5 Year Anniversary at Zuccotti Park read something like:

OCCUPY WALL STREET 5 YEARS (STILL HERE)!

And in the midst of reading the headline news of the day, on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street day one thousand and something, I think.  And Occupy Wall Street and that all things police brutality and beyond Black Lives Matter movements are still moving fast.  And as I had typed in that previous blog post before and had said in that BronxNet OPEN University July 26 2016 video that finds itself posted above, that I am looking forward to that Black Lives Matter Art Show at chashama, and so I thought to post that that Black Lives Matter Art Show is now at Chashama, until September 4th.  And if you need space to create, chashama has it, as chashama nurtures artists by transforming unused property into work and presentation space. They give you what you need. SPACE!
chashama presents artists’ works in many different venues, and thanks to the The Durst Organization, artists are able to present their work in the lobbies of many buildings in NYC. Another way in which we can keep alive the cultural richness of our city!  And so one of those chashama’s locations has currently been transformed into a Black Lives Matter Art Show.  And thank you chasnama or letting me get that artwork out the closet once again to present another one of those Black Lives Matter Art Shows whenever possible.  And so that Black Lives Matter Art Show reception happened last week already from 6-8pm according to that Black Lives Matter Art Show Facebook event invite, or noon according to Time Out New York.  And the Black Lives Matter Art Show Facebook event invite reads something like as follows:

Black Lives Matter | Carla Cubit of Occupy Art

Opening Reception & Performances: Friday, August 5, 6-8pm
A performance by both Carla Cubit of Occupy Art and a speaker from The Stop Mass Incarceration Network, followed by an Artist Talk & Discussion.

(For the most up to date event information visit http://www.chashama.org/event/black_lives_matter_art_show)

August 5 – September 4, 2016
On view 24/7, through storefront window.

Open Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 12-6 pm
Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, the Black Lives Matter Art Show features Carla Cubit’s Black Lives Matter artwork and posters, accompanied by her photographs from Black Lives Matter protests throughout the NYC area.

“Expand scope, perspective, and inspiration towards an ongoing series of future culture jams and events around this theme and time.” During Open Hours (see above), all are encouraged to come talk about the Black Lives Matter movement and are invited to create their own posters/Black Lives Matter inspired artwork (art materials and supplies provided).

Handmade Black Lives Matter necklaces, magnets, and key chains will be on sale for $1 during the Opening Reception and all Open Hours.

About the Artist
Carla Cubit’s creates small mixed media assemblage pieces using found objects and materials–often discarded hardware and recycled objects. She weaves tales from castoffs found in the streets. Her works are “highly visionary in nature.” A former resident of the East Village in New York City, Cubit’s artwork has shown in galleries and other venues in NYC. Recently her works have been inspired by the Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matter movements. Cubit finds that there is no separation between her daily life and her creative outpouring: “I love the arts in whatever medium it may be; music, theater, dance etc; and I believe in religion, mysticism and the secret meaning of the unknown and art as a universal means of communication.”

“We are the 99%.” Visit Occupy Art, to learn more about past Occupy Art and Black Lives Matter Art Shows.

About The Stop Mass Incarceration Network
“Rise up to Stop Mass Incarceration & Police Terror. We are initiating an effort to accelerate the movement to stop the injustice of mass incarceration and police brutality; the racially biased policies and practices of the police, the courts and the U.S. legal system; and to support the human rights of prisoners and of the formerly incarcerated. We call on all to join us.” Learn more and get involved, at Stop Mass Incarceration Network.

And thank you Travis Morales and Stop Mass Incarceration Network for speaking at and bringing literature to this event.

And there were or are, DecorForU #blacklivesmatter, #occupywallstreet, #berniesanders and more necklaces, magnets and key chains being vended for $1 each as part of this reception and event also.
And there were also thoughts, thoughts and more thoughts, almost too many to mention and type on this blog post that were written and shared on those “Your Thoughts On Black Lives Matter Banners” as in some of those photos and videos that find themselves posted above.  And some of those thoughts written were:

1.  My Life Matters
2.  Listen, do you want to know a secret?  All Lives Matter.  Stop the hate.
3.  (in response to #2), yet this totally disarms #blacklivesmatter and continues the hate.  Ironic.
4.  Let’s be clear.  Black llives have always mattered.  What the Black Lives Matter is saying is that black lives in the judicial system are not being recognized as life lost.  Legally we stopped being property less than 200 years ago.  So since we are free black & magical – are we less protected by law because we are no longer property. Black Lives Matter is all you ever need to know.  #______ my life matters.
5.  If we don’t get justice they wont get no peace.
6.  Love your blackness.
7.  I love black people
8.  We are one.  No one is different.  All the same.  Same love.
9.  Fight the good fight.
10.  Keep fighting.  Keep loving.  Freedom is the soul of equality.  Do not rest until we are all equal.
11.  The people united will never be defeated.
12.  You are my brother.  You are my sister.
13.  Jesus Loves Black Lives.
14.  Focus on the progress.  Not hate.  Otherwise they win.
15.  It’s so sad that even in 2016 we are still living in a white supremacist capitalist colonial patriarchy where people of color are routinely silenced and murdered.
16.  A white male police officer told Karyn Gains “I can’t believe you’re raising your kids this way”, meaning raising them to defend themselves and resist police violence.  5 months later, she was murdered in her home and her son was shot by police.  When will we stop blaming people of color for their own victimization under white supremacy.
17.  We are a billion cells of pure knowing.
18.  Black Lives Matter
19.  All Lives Matter (in response to #18).
20.  Together we can
21.  Jesus
22.  No God.  No Peace.  Know God.  Know Peace.
23.  There’s history, power & strength of my skin color.  Always love your black in all ways.
24.  Step the fuck up white people.
25.  My life does matter and my skin is beautiful and important.
26.  My skin color is beautiful.
27.  Black is beautiful.
28.  Silence is not an option, but listening is just as important.
29.  Race is a social constraint that we reaffirm everyday.  It is in out power to change the status quo.  Love is love is love.
30.  The color of my skin does ot make me inferior.  It makes me beautiful.
31.  We all feel and feelings have no color.
32.  The skin i’m in is beautiful, bold, black.
33.  All people of color should be treated fairly.
34.  Color is just a refraction of lights, length received by our eyes, what should count is what’s in our souls.
35.  Black Love Matter
36.  Every place where you set your foot will be yours. – Deut 11:24
37.  A 5 year old child understands this you would think all adults would.
38.  If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.
39.  The character of a man is now where he stands in times of peace, but where he stands in times of strife & turmoil.  Where do you stand?
40.  Under skin we all bleed red.
41.  Jesus is love.  Dwell on this notion!
42.  Skittles + hoodie = armed + dangerous.  R.I.P Trevon
43.  Inequality is a historical & social product of society, classified by color.  It is out moral obligation to keep fighting until we truly reach equality & justice.  A revolution has to happen now.  Keep fighting.
44.  We are people.  We have families.  We exist.
45.  Let’s keep the fight against injustice.
46.  our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. MLK Jr.
47.  Be kind to yourself, and others! racism.
48.  Just like black is the combination of all colors of the spectrum.  So are black lives.  So when we say black lives matter we are saying black trans, black gay, black women, black children, black men, my black is all of that.
49.  “March through the streets”.  I’m willing and I’m able.  Categorize me and I defy every label.  #blackgirlmagic, #carefreeblackgirl, #blacklivesmatter
50.  Fight the power! Transform the people for revolution.
51.  #Hands Up Don’t Shoot!
52.  Let us remember that Dr. King was hated by the government.  Be flexible.
53.  ONE LOVE
54.  Change!
55.  Justice
56.  It’s not about the color, its the character.
57.  1 world, 1 race, 1 life, 1 death, 1 eternity.
58.  500 years later and we’re still trying to make this point?!  We need to come together and heal now.  Educate about the true history.  Share stories.  Work for change.

And as seen in some of those photos from some of those Black Lives Matter protests in the New York City area to found on that Black Lives Matter Art Show wall, Millions March NYC is having a Shut Down City Hall NYC protest at City Hall in New York City if you happen to be in the area, today being Sunday, Day 14 of their Abolition Square, City Hall Park event. And part of their Shut Down City Hall Facebook event invite reads as follows:

Approaching the 2-year mark of the Ferguson Uprising on August 9, Millions March NYC is calling for the OCCUPATION OF CITY HALL PARK starting Monday, August 1, 2016 at 9 AM. It is time we escalate our organizational tactics against this racist system, which continues to execute Black & Brown people with impunity—most recently #DelrawnSmallhere in East New York, Brooklyn.

Please come by my Black Lives Matter Art Show at Chashama if you happen to be in the neighborhood, August 5th – September 4th, 2016, NYC.   #blacklivesmatter,  Occupy Art, Occupy Wall Street Worldwide.

A March To Shut Down Rikers Island

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blagh. And so along with what seems like the remnants of hurricane Joaquin the other day, in the midst of Occupy Wall StreetBlack Lives Matter and beyond, there was another March to Shut Down Rikers Island that was held rain, hurricane or shine in that city of New York on that Island of Queens, at the foot of the bridge leading to Rikers Island. And I guess those photos and videos from that event that day that find themselves posted above can speak for themselves. And that March to Shut Down Rikers Island Facebook event invite for this event read something like:

Saturday, October 3rd, join #ResistRikers & friends in a march to shut down Rikers Island. Featuring artwork & props by The People’s Puppets of Occupy Wall Street. RAIN OR SHINE.

3pm meet-up in front of the Rikers Island sign, followed by a speak out, march, and more! Bring your voice, banners, friends, and family. All are invited to speak about their experiences.

Directions: Q100 bus to the Rikers Island sign (right before the bridge) at the intersection of 19 Ave. & Hazen St. in Queens, from one of the following subway stations: (N/Q) Astoria-Ditmars Blvd, (F) 21 St- Queensbridge, (E/M/R) Queens Plaza, or (G) Court Square.

Contact us to get involved with planning and outreach.
___________________________
WE DEMAND AN END TO TORTURE IN NYC!
Rikers Island is NYC’s Abu Ghraib, where individuals in need of care are instead caged, languishing both mentally and physically; a place where those suffering illnesses are tortured not treated, denying them the most basic of human rights.

WE DEMAND AN END TO CRIMINALIZING POVERTY!
Most people incarcerated on Rikers Island have not been convicted of a crime. They are unable to afford bail and awaiting their next court appearance and/or trial. NYC’s Tale of Two Cities forces the poor and innocent to endure a culture of violence, rape, and overall barbarism that no human should be subject to.

WE DEMAND AN END TO DECEPTIVE REFORMS!
Mayor de Blasio shows up for photo shoots in newly renovated portions of the jail complex, while most of it remains in a state of serious disrepair and deterioration. There are frequent sewage backups and water main breaks. The floors and ceilings are crumbling. The heating and ventilation systems don’t function properly. There are rotting showers, toilets, and sinks.

WE DEMAND AN END TO OPPRESSION!
NYC Department of Correction and the Correction Officers Benevolent Association have reaped the benefits of inequality and bloodshed for far too long. Too many lives, homes, and hearts have been destroyed so that a morally bankrupt system may flourish.

NO MORE!

#ResistRikers #EyesOnRikers #BlackLivesMatter #PovertyIsNotACrime#KaliefBrowder #JusticeForKalief #SaveOurYouth

And Resist Rikers posted on that March to SHUT DOWN RIKERS ISLAND Facebook event invite,

“THANK YOU to everyone who trooped it out to this afternoon’s march to shut down Rikers!!! Super extra mega thanks to the peeps at Black Lives Matter. NYC Shut It Down: The Grand Central CrewCopwatch Patrol Unit – CPU”The People’s Puppets of Occupy Wall Street, and Millions March NYC. TOGETHER, WE WILL WIN! Only in unity will we put an end to torture in NYC and SHUT DOWN RIKERS!!!”

And there are articles with titles like Rikers Island Jail, New York City: Shut Down This Torture Hellhole!, Queens Councilman Wants to Abolish Rikers Island, and even Department of Justice to Release 6,000 Prisoners calling to shut down Rikers and prison reform. And so The Stop Mass Incarceration Network has created another Facebook event invite #RiseUpOctober: Shut Down Rikers Island and their event invite reads something like:

It’s been called “New York’s Abu Ghraib,” a combination torture chamber & concentration camp. After years of exposure, after lawsuits and decrees, horrors that shock the conscience continue unabated. In the country’s largest jail, lives are irreparably damaged every day.
As part of #RiseUpOctober, join in a non-violent direct action and protest to Shut Down Rikers Island. Sign up to be part of the action, or to provide support. Write: addmyvoice@riseupoctober.org

When: Morning; Gathering Location: TBA

And flood the streets on October 24:
https://www.facebook.com/events/767581106685589/

Also, take part in the national October 22 National Day of Protest to STOP Police Brutality, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation across the country:
https://www.facebook.com/events/767581106685589/

And according to that NAACP photo posted above, “Welcome to America, home to 5% of the world’s people and 25% of the world’s prisoners. And Rikers Island is one of the ten worst prisons in America. And New York City is what a police state looks like. And Rikers Island is what a police state looks like. No one is free when others are oppressed. Is another world possible. And what does this have to do with a No Police State.

And in case you have been hiding out under a rock or stuck in the stone age or something and haven’t heard, #Ferguson is happening. And there seems to be a bazillion events, actions and more for Ferguson, too numerous to mention in this blog post. And seemingly a million or more Facebook groups and pages for #blacklivesmatter, #handsupdontshoot #itsbeyondferguson#indictamerica #boycottblackfriday ,  and now #justiceforericgarner that have been created. And Ferguson Action Network has held many events for Michael Brown and Ferguson, Missouri. And then there is the Peoples Power Assemblies Facebook page whose EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROTESTS/ACTIONS TO THE FERGUSON GRAND JURY! #SHUTITDOWN! Facebook event invite that has Ferguson events and beyond on it. And the description of that Peoples Power Assemblies page and event invite reads as follows:

And there are chants, chants and more chants and slogans, slogans and more slogans when it comes to Justice For Michael Brown. Walk Out Of School, Walk Out Of Work, Say No More To Police Murder. Hands up. Don’t shoot! Black lives matter. What do we want? Justice! When do we want it? Now! Shut it down! No justice, No peace. No racist police. No more stolen lives! Show me what democracy looks like. This is what democracy looks like. And the list of events and actions for police brutality goes on and on. And what does this have to do with a No Police State. And I have blaghed on this blagh many times before about gun violence and gun control. So much that I could post the same post over and over. And it almost seems as if nothing changes and everything still remains the same. Guns and the images of guns are still everywhere. And there is Trayvon Martin and a host of others, seemingly black males, who have fallen at the hands of polizei in North America. And now in the headline news there is#Ferguson Missouri, more people falling at the hands of polizei and guns. And then there are school shootings and the list of shootings in various places by various people goes on and on to where one can be afraid to leave home sometimes for fear you might not make it back, because of a gun. And then there is Occupy the NRA. Guns are the worst invention ever. If only guns could be banished from every human being on planet earth. There are no words to me to describe that photo above except to say Occupy The NRA. No one is free when others are oppressed. #IndictAmerica #BlackLivesMatter. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Occupy Art Went To Figment NYC

figment6

And if I must blogger say, FIGMENT NYC was awesome. And that ferry boat ride that one takes across the water to get to Governors Island and all of its art, art and more art, well that was even more awesome to see New York City and all of its harbor views. And those one hundred and more art projects and art installations, performances and more that found themselves on Governors Island on this Figment NYC day, well they were even more awesome. And so this Figmentevent seems as if it wants photos, photos and more photos and colors, colors and more colors to be added to this post. And so Occupy Art Show was at Figment on this day and some of those photos from this Occupy Art Show find themselves posted above. And even more photos from that Occupy Art Show and FIGMENT NYC on this day find themselves posted in my Occupy Art Show @ Figment NYC Facebook event invite. And the Occupy Wall Street People’s Puppets were there on this day also. And if I would have known that, I would have Occupy Wall Street People’s Puppets went over there to see their show also. And so Figment NYC has come to an end this past weekend. And with that, that Occupy Art Show @ Figment NYC has came to an end as well. And so Figment is off to San Diego, Boston, Toronto, Washington D.C. and even more cities as well in all its Figmentness. And on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 997. And Occupy Wall Street is still moving fast, well sort of. Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Art Worldwide.

Occupy Art Was @ Left Forum

Picture 706

Well that Occupy Art Panel at Left Forum at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in that city of New York that I blogged about a week or so ago happened a few days ago. And according to Left Forum, this was their best conference to date. And from what I saw during my time there, despite a panel speaker being missing in action who did not make it to that Occupy Art panel on this day, it was Paul DeRienzo of Let Them Talk who saved the day with his squatter history slide show for the few people who were in attendance. And that slide show was all things squatting and art. And if it wasn’t for Paul and his slide show, that “There will be a slide show presentation of Occupy artwork as well as Lower East Side, NYC Lower East Side Squat History zines” part of Occupy Art’s panel description would have just been false advertising and may not have happened. And so how did the rest of that Left Forum conference go on the last day of their three day conference one may ask, maybe? Well those photos above speak for themselves and a picture can tell a story, or something like that. And on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 990. Have a great Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Art day and more.
