First they came for the Socialists and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists,
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak for me.

And a host of Black Lives Matter related events and beyond have passed since I left that Stop Mass Incarceration Network Justice for Alton Sterling & Philando Castile #StopPoliceTerror-Which Side Are You On? protest at Union Square just yesterday in that city of New York that seems to have been part of a much larger nationwide protest for Alton Sterling and all victims of police brutality. And the latest headline news of the day on this day for the Dallas protests yesterday, has me wanting to say Occupy the NRA. And Alton Sterling was the 558th person killed by cops in 2016.  And if you don’t take issue with this then you are part of the problem.  And that event invite for that Stop Mass Incarceration Network Facebook event invite read something like:
July 7 – July 8
at 7PM
Union Square Park, New York, New York

Friday July 8 7:00 pm people will meet again at Union Square, 14th Street (south) end of the park near the steps. Bring your signs, your banners, your drums, your noise makers, your anger and and your determination to#StopPoliceTerror

The Stop Mass Incarceration Network & the NYC Revolution Club call on you to get in the streets right away in response to the outrageous and criminal murder of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and of Philando Castile in Minneapolis MN

Stop police terror!
Indict, convict, send the killer cops to jail!
revcom.us: http://revcom.us/a/447/alton-sterling-baton-rouge-louisiana-en.html

Just this week we have #3deadin3days! Starting with so-called Independence Day:

Monday #DelwarnSmall was shot by an off duty cop in from of his family during a road rage incident in Brooklyn NY.

Tuesday #AltonSterling was murdered while pinned down by officers which was caught on video in Baton Rouge LA.

Wednesday #PhilandoCastile was murdered in Falcon Heights, MN also in front of his family after complying with officers, also on video.

And those photos and video that find themselves posted above from this protest, tell a story, part of a story. And what, if anything, does this have to do with a No Police State.

A March To Shut Down Rikers Island

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blagh. And so along with what seems like the remnants of hurricane Joaquin the other day, in the midst of Occupy Wall StreetBlack Lives Matter and beyond, there was another March to Shut Down Rikers Island that was held rain, hurricane or shine in that city of New York on that Island of Queens, at the foot of the bridge leading to Rikers Island. And I guess those photos and videos from that event that day that find themselves posted above can speak for themselves. And that March to Shut Down Rikers Island Facebook event invite for this event read something like:

Saturday, October 3rd, join #ResistRikers & friends in a march to shut down Rikers Island. Featuring artwork & props by The People’s Puppets of Occupy Wall Street. RAIN OR SHINE.

3pm meet-up in front of the Rikers Island sign, followed by a speak out, march, and more! Bring your voice, banners, friends, and family. All are invited to speak about their experiences.

Directions: Q100 bus to the Rikers Island sign (right before the bridge) at the intersection of 19 Ave. & Hazen St. in Queens, from one of the following subway stations: (N/Q) Astoria-Ditmars Blvd, (F) 21 St- Queensbridge, (E/M/R) Queens Plaza, or (G) Court Square.

Contact us to get involved with planning and outreach.

WE DEMAND AN END TO TORTURE IN NYC!
Rikers Island is NYC’s Abu Ghraib, where individuals in need of care are instead caged, languishing both mentally and physically; a place where those suffering illnesses are tortured not treated, denying them the most basic of human rights.

WE DEMAND AN END TO CRIMINALIZING POVERTY!
Most people incarcerated on Rikers Island have not been convicted of a crime. They are unable to afford bail and awaiting their next court appearance and/or trial. NYC’s Tale of Two Cities forces the poor and innocent to endure a culture of violence, rape, and overall barbarism that no human should be subject to.

WE DEMAND AN END TO DECEPTIVE REFORMS!
Mayor de Blasio shows up for photo shoots in newly renovated portions of the jail complex, while most of it remains in a state of serious disrepair and deterioration. There are frequent sewage backups and water main breaks. The floors and ceilings are crumbling. The heating and ventilation systems don’t function properly. There are rotting showers, toilets, and sinks.

WE DEMAND AN END TO OPPRESSION!
NYC Department of Correction and the Correction Officers Benevolent Association have reaped the benefits of inequality and bloodshed for far too long. Too many lives, homes, and hearts have been destroyed so that a morally bankrupt system may flourish.

NO MORE!

#ResistRikers #EyesOnRikers #BlackLivesMatter #PovertyIsNotACrime#KaliefBrowder #JusticeForKalief #SaveOurYouth

And Resist Rikers posted on that March to SHUT DOWN RIKERS ISLAND Facebook event invite,

“THANK YOU to everyone who trooped it out to this afternoon’s march to shut down Rikers!!! Super extra mega thanks to the peeps at Black Lives Matter. NYC Shut It Down: The Grand Central CrewCopwatch Patrol Unit – CPU”The People’s Puppets of Occupy Wall Street, and Millions March NYC. TOGETHER, WE WILL WIN! Only in unity will we put an end to torture in NYC and SHUT DOWN RIKERS!!!”

And there are articles with titles like Rikers Island Jail, New York City: Shut Down This Torture Hellhole!, Queens Councilman Wants to Abolish Rikers Island, and even Department of Justice to Release 6,000 Prisoners calling to shut down Rikers and prison reform. And so The Stop Mass Incarceration Network has created another Facebook event invite #RiseUpOctober: Shut Down Rikers Island and their event invite reads something like:

It’s been called “New York’s Abu Ghraib,” a combination torture chamber & concentration camp. After years of exposure, after lawsuits and decrees, horrors that shock the conscience continue unabated. In the country’s largest jail, lives are irreparably damaged every day.
As part of #RiseUpOctober, join in a non-violent direct action and protest to Shut Down Rikers Island. Sign up to be part of the action, or to provide support. Write: addmyvoice@riseupoctober.org

When: Morning; Gathering Location: TBA

And flood the streets on October 24:
https://www.facebook.com/events/767581106685589/

Also, take part in the national October 22 National Day of Protest to STOP Police Brutality, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation across the country:
https://www.facebook.com/events/767581106685589/

And according to that NAACP photo posted above, “Welcome to America, home to 5% of the world’s people and 25% of the world’s prisoners. And Rikers Island is one of the ten worst prisons in America. And New York City is what a police state looks like. And Rikers Island is what a police state looks like. No one is free when others are oppressed. Is another world possible. And what does this have to do with a No Police State.

And even when that Google page rank update of yesteryear still wants to send me in search of a fifth full time job for when that get rich internet quick does not get rich internet quick, I still find myself attempting to blagh away in order to maintain content for this blagh and my other blagh whenever blaghers block possible.
And on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street day one thousand and something, and Occupy Wall Street is still moving fast. And Black Lives Matter, that everything police brutality and beyond movement, is still moving fast also. And in between reading those current event headline news of the day about that #ChinaMeltdown, China stock market going under, thattake down the Confederate flag debate, #OccupytheNRA, and everything else in between, there was a march to shut down Rikers Island the other day, some place similar to Attica Prison. And I know that there was a march to shut down Rikers Island the other day, in that city of New York, because that Facebook event invite from Resist Rikers says so.”Today, we march to Rikers Island to deliver this scroll, demanding the immediate and unconditional removal of all the children from the island”. And that Resist Rikers description of that MARCH TO SHUT DOWN RIKERS – JUSTICE FOR KALIEF BROWDER! NO TO CRIMINALIZATION! Facebook event invite read something like:

March to shut down Rikers Island on Saturday June 27.

Gather to rally at 3 p.m. across the bridge from the jail complex, at 19th Av and Hazen St, Queens.

RAIN OR SHINE

We demand JUSTICE FOR Kalief Browder, who suffered at the hands of Corrections Officers like so many others at Rikers,

We demand the city immediately STOP JAILING MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE and fund mental health services instead,

We demand QUALITY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES and healthcare to those currently incarcerated,

We REJECT Mayor de Blasio’s 14-point plan for “reform” at Rikers. We will not accept any more limitations on visits and criminalization of our families.

On Saturday June 27 march on Rikers Island with us, to demand an END TO THE RACIST PRISON SYSTEM and IN MEMORY OF THE FALLEN. We will not be silent.

#ResistRikers #KaliefBrowder #Justice4Kalief #EyesOnRikers #BlackLivesMatter

Bring noisemakers, banners, friends and family. Spread the word and contact us to get involved with outreach and planning.

And Here are 6 Companies That Get Rich off Prisoners. And then there is this Flickr photo, “We shall return to encircle and suppress the ability of the slave state to oppress the children. We must make our Long March to raze the slave state to the ground!!”
And then there is that NAACP photo that finds itself posted above.”The prison state. Welcome to America, home to 5% of the world’s people and 25% of the world’s prisoners”. And the list of articles about the prison state, the slave state of America, goes on and on.

And on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 1,000 and something. And Occupy Wall Street is still moving fast. And in case you have been hiding out under a rock or stuck in the stone age or something and haven’t heard, #Ferguson is happening. And there seems to be a bazillion events, actions and more for Ferguson, too numerous to mention in this blog post. And seemingly a million or more Facebook groups and pages for #blacklivesmatter, #handsupdontshoot #itsbeyondferguson#indictamerica #boycottblackfriday ,  and now #justiceforericgarner that have been created. And Ferguson Action Network has held many events for Michael Brown and Ferguson, Missouri. And then there is the Peoples Power Assemblies Facebook page whose EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROTESTS/ACTIONS TO THE FERGUSON GRAND JURY! #SHUTITDOWN! Facebook event invite that has Ferguson events and beyond on it. And the description of that Peoples Power Assemblies page and event invite reads as follows:

And I have blaghed on this blagh many times before about gun violence and gun control. So much that I could post the same post over and over. And it almost seems as if nothing changes and everything still remains the same. Guns and the images of guns are still everywhere. And there is Trayvon Martin and a host of others, seemingly black males, who have fallen at the hands of polizei in North America. And now in the headline news there is#Ferguson Missouri, more people falling at the hands of polizei and guns. And then there are school shootings and the list of shootings in various places by various people goes on and on to where one can be afraid to leave home sometimes for fear you might not make it back, because of a gun. And then there is Occupy the NRA. Guns are the worst invention ever. If only guns could be banished from every human being on planet earth. There are no words to me to describe that photo above except to say Occupy The NRA. No one is free when others are oppressed. #IndictAmerica #BlackLivesMatter. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?
