Occupy Art Went To Figment NYC

figment6

And if I must blogger say, FIGMENT NYC was awesome. And that ferry boat ride that one takes across the water to get to Governors Island and all of its art, art and more art, well that was even more awesome to see New York City and all of its harbor views. And those one hundred and more art projects and art installations, performances and more that found themselves on Governors Island on this Figment NYC day, well they were even more awesome. And so this Figmentevent seems as if it wants photos, photos and more photos and colors, colors and more colors to be added to this post. And so Occupy Art Show was at Figment on this day and some of those photos from this Occupy Art Show find themselves posted above. And even more photos from that Occupy Art Show and FIGMENT NYC on this day find themselves posted in my Occupy Art Show @ Figment NYC Facebook event invite. And the Occupy Wall Street People’s Puppets were there on this day also. And if I would have known that, I would have Occupy Wall Street People’s Puppets went over there to see their show also. And so Figment NYC has come to an end this past weekend. And with that, that Occupy Art Show @ Figment NYC has came to an end as well. And so Figment is off to San Diego, Boston, Toronto, Washington D.C. and even more cities as well in all its Figmentness. And on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 997. And Occupy Wall Street is still moving fast, well sort of. Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Art Worldwide.

Occupy Art Was @ Left Forum

Picture 706

Well that Occupy Art Panel at Left Forum at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in that city of New York that I blogged about a week or so ago happened a few days ago. And according to Left Forum, this was their best conference to date. And from what I saw during my time there, despite a panel speaker being missing in action who did not make it to that Occupy Art panel on this day, it was Paul DeRienzo of Let Them Talk who saved the day with his squatter history slide show for the few people who were in attendance. And that slide show was all things squatting and art. And if it wasn’t for Paul and his slide show, that “There will be a slide show presentation of Occupy artwork as well as Lower East Side, NYC Lower East Side Squat History zines” part of Occupy Art’s panel description would have just been false advertising and may not have happened. And so how did the rest of that Left Forum conference go on the last day of their three day conference one may ask, maybe? Well those photos above speak for themselves and a picture can tell a story, or something like that. And on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 990. Have a great Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Art day and more.

Occupy The NSA

nsa

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. And on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 1004. And Occupy Wall Street is still moving fast. And if I must blogger say, I came across Shahid Buttar’s Facebook page after coming across him performing at my Occupy Art Show @ Bowery Poetry Club a few months ago. And that NSA vs USA video of his that finds itself posted above, well that seems to be all Occupy The NSA and more. And I have blaghed about the NSA Surveillance State on this blog before. And it seems as if technology is turning against humanity sometimes with its zombie apocalypse in cell phones, the internet and other electronic devices. And that Shahid Buttar video above NSA vs USA George Orwell 1984 speaks for itself. And what, if anything, does this have to do with a No Police State.

Honoring The Fallen Again?

Image

So Memorial day just passed a few days ago. And when that get rich internet quick does not get rich internet quick and that Google page rank update is still wanting to send me in search of a fifth full time job, and trying to figure out how to use this WordPress blog is even more trippy, I still find myself blaghing for some reason. And so that photo above that I came across in facebookland has text that reads as follows:

KNOW YOUR HISTORY: Memorial Day was started by former slaves on May, 1, 1865 in Charleston, SC to honor 257 dead Union Soldiers who had been buried in a mass grave in a Confederate prison camp. They dug up the bodies and worked for 2 weeks to give them a proper burial as gratitude for fighting for their freedom. They then held a parade of 10,000 people led by 2,800 Black children where they marched, sang and celebrated.

Thanks to Abstrakt Goldsmith for this nugget of history that most of us never learned in school.”

And that recycle this blog Memorial Day post  that I found myself posting on this blog some time a while ago reads:

And Memorial Day is almost near in a couple of days or so according to that Gregorian calendar and all of those street festivals that are to be found everywhere in the streets today. And I thought to blah blog about this patriotic flag waving holiday. And this also leads me to realize that I have been blahging on this blog for over a year now and that these holidays seem to be a recurring event and same day, different year when that same ole Gregorian calendar date roles around. And then I thought, hey, I can just post the same blog entry from a year ago that I posted on this blog a year ago because it almost seems like it’s the same day, different year. And besides, it;s less writing sometimes. So the following is a passage that I posted on this blog a year ago:

And today is Memorial Day in America. A celebration of the war day. Another one of those patriotic holidays. The flag wavers are out and yellow ribbons, badges of honor, medals, parades, marches, prayers, patriotic songs, tributes and ceremonies are being broadcast everywhere. The headlines read “Honor the dead soldiers, honor the fallen soldiers and comrades”. Today is the ultimate patriotic fanatic holiday. My question of the day; for what reason is it an honor to volunteer to be fodder for the canon. For what reason is it an honor to die for nothing, to fight for reasons that do not exist, to fight against the flesh for powers that be that one cannot even see. For what reason is it an honor to be so poor that one will volunteer their life in exchange for money after one leaves the service, if one leaves the service. For what reason is it an honor for persons to be brainwashed with propaganda, theirs or mine. For what reason is it an honor to become a violent person and pick up a gun and kill another person for no reason at all. For what reason is it an honor to be a veteran who now make up the majority of the homeless population. For what reason is it an honor to attend one of those military sponsored funerals and cry over the image of a flag that propagates violence, the same flag that caused ones death. For what reason is it an honor to fall and die for nothing. For what reason is it an honor to promote this ideology. What is heroic about all of this? And why does the word “Patriot” have the word “Riot” in it? And why does the word “Military” militant militia have the word “Mal” in it? “Parens Patriarch, Father of our country”, that phrase seems to be the basis of endless deaths of the world. I saw Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 documentary. It is nineteen eighty four and Orwellianism is everywhere at its best today. Is it written somewhere that this must all come to pass? Happy beach bar b queing Memorial day. Peace on earth. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

And so I just happen to have one of those 1st Annual FEVA, Federation of East Village Artists, HOWL! Festival of East Village Arts The HOWL! Souvenir Books lying around that I must have gotten from Tompkins Square Park years ago, that park that finds itself somewhat infamous for that 1988 Tompkins Square Park Riot that had squatters, the homeless and everyone in between running to and/or from the police that had something to do with a curfew in that park that finds itself in the Lower East Side now called the East Village for real estate marketing purposes maybe, in that city of New York.  And so this souvenir book is really cool with its East Village culture of life and history in that neighborhood during those times. And along with that Long Live The Lower East Side poem that finds itself in this book, here is another one of the many poems and photos that finds themselves in this book also that I thought interesting to post on this blog. Decor 4 U

So Passover, that high holy day that marks spring and Easter must be today, yesterday or tomorrow according to that Gregorian calender on the wall because all of those articles in internetland and I guess just about everywhere else in advertisingland are starting to display those Seder and break out the Matzo photos. And even though this blagh post isn’t exactly about Passover, it does happen to be about DecorForU, some Etsy page I created a while ago in an attempt to sell those boxes and containers I have been decorating. And those photos that find themselves posted above, well they are Etsy for you. And what exactly this has to do with a No Police State I am not exactly sure except that it’s just another one of those posts I am posting in an attempt to maintain content for this blog and my other blog whenever blaghers block possible. Have a great Etsy day and more.

Occupy Wall Street Worldwide

When will you #reoccupy? April 4th? May 1st? It’s not if, but when. And so on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street day 931. And Occupy Wall Street is still moving fast, sort of. And today is one of those reoccupy Wall Street kind of days. And there is a Wave of Action on this day for reoccupy seemingly everything everywhere with website descriptions and seemingly a bazillion websites and Occupy Wall Street Facebook events that I have come across in internetland in the past few days that read something like as follows. Occupy Wall Street Worldwide.

The Worldwide Wave of Action begins April 4th and runs through July 4th. During this three-month cycle, people throughout the world will be protesting corruption, rallying around solutions and taking part in alternative systems. The new paradigm will be on full display.

Studies have proven that it only takes 3.5% of the population taking nonviolent action to create meaningful and positive change. The Worldwide Wave of Action gives all of us who want change a powerful opportunity to make it happen and move society forward. Change-makers all over the world will be engaged at the same time in an unprecedented wave of transformation.

On April 4th, there will be Worldwide Wave launch celebrations at hundreds of former Occupy locations globally. We will gather at Zuccotti Park in NYC to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy of nonviolent action and spend the day connecting with allies and strategizing spring action campaigns. This crowdsourced campaign will become what you, the people, make of it, self-organizing and organically evolving, a new culture will emerge.

What are you most passionate about? What are you doing to be the change? Whatever it is, passionately be it in public this spring. Get together with like-minded friends and have fun with it.

We have power in numbers. United we are unstoppable.

OUR TIME HAS COME!!

In service to the many people who refuse to use Facebook for organizing, we will be introducing an online organizing platform and tools to help facilitate actions. Stay tuned for more info. Click on map below to find an April 4th location near you…

6:00 pm: Know Your Rights – NYC #WaveOfAction Mask Edition

Did you know you can be arrested for wearing a mask during #WaveOfAction?
Police in New York City sometimes enforce a very old city law that bans masks and facial coverings at gatherings of two or more people unless it is “a masquerade party or like entertainment.”
If there is more than one masked individual at an event, everyone wearing a mask could get arrested. The law permits the police to use discretion in enforcement, so there may be some situations, and some types of face coverings, that police will ignore.
