Occupy This Event

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blagh. And besides those political conventions that seem to be in the headline news these days, a whole lot of other events seem to be going on. And I know that a whole lot of other events are going on, specifically in that city of New York because all of those Facebook events and email announcements that find their way into my inbox says so. And on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 356, a week or so away from the #S17 anniversary of that global revolution. And Occupy Wall Street is still moving fast. And so in my social media web 2.0 user generated content attempt to maintain content for this blagh and my other blog whenever blaghers block possible, some of those events are as follows because hey, it’s less writing sometimes, I think.

Commemorate 9/11/01 Concert: Sunday, September 9th, 2012, 2:00pm. Wombat In Combat, Comrades, Alien, Mans Gin, Atruth, Carla Npsg, David Peel. Tompkins Square Park, 7th Street Ave A, New York, New York. And from what I Carla Npsg blogger know for this event, more bands and speakers to be announced. And I think the title of that event and the history of that park speaks for itself.

Go: a community-curated open studio project : On September 8–9, 2012, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, artists across Brooklyn will open their studio doors, so that you can decide who will be featured in an exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum. And I just know #gobrooklynart is happening this weekend because I have received what seems like a million come look at my art in my studio emails and announcements from what seems like a bazillion different artists in a million different locations who will be showing their artwork as part of this event.

Spectra Showdown: And in case you haven’t heard, some big oil company is looking to blow up the ground in New York and New Jersey to run a fracked pipeline through it, or something like that. Frack is wack.

Texas Gas vs. the People of NYC

Spectra, you’ve been warned. Get out of Town, We don’t like your kind around here.

They’ve been laying the infrastructure and groundwork to move in. They’ll be importing hydro-fractured gas (using this most toxic type of extraction method) into the West Village, thereby creating more demand for this gas, thereby creating more hydro-fractured sites across the country, including our very own upstate New York and Catskills, and thereby endangering our water supply. It looks definite that Spectra will break ground next week.
We are going to prepare ourselves to shut them down on arrival. It’s Showdown time! Put on your toughest Clint Eastwood face, bring your signs, noisemakers, snacks, puppets, instruments, songs, chants and prepare to tell the dirty extraction industry, “Go ahead. Make my day.”

Wear a costume! Bring a sign, an instrument, anything to help spread the word to the people most affected by this, the residents of the NYC and NJ.

The “New Jersey-New York Expansion Project” is a proposed high-pressure gas pipeline, varying in diameter from 42-30″ and slated to travel up the New Jersey shoreline, through the edge of Staten Island, under Jersey City and across the Hudson River, entering Manhattan at the Gansevoort Peninsula in the West Village. It is known more commonly by the name of its builder’s parent company, Spectra Energy.

We must take a stand to defend our communities; upstate, NYC, New Jersey, all places where hydro-fracking rears its ugly head. The gas industry thinks they can sneak in and set up shop in NY and we’ll just lie there and take it while they destroy our farmland, water and air quality, expose our homes to radon and put us in a blast zone. They’re dead wrong.
Monday night we follow in the footsteps of our brave climate justice comrades and we fight back. Please join us.

Gansevoort and Hudson River Greenway – You can cross over the West Side Highway at 14th St., at Horatio St. or at W.12th St. to get to the Greenway. Look for the Department of Sanitation Building, and adjacent to this is a HUGE crane. This is the site. This is Spectra Energy.

Fun Fact: Spectra Energy is excluded from regulations of the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts.

Fun Fact: Radon Gas, according to the Surgeon General, is the 2nd leading cause of Lung Cancer in the nation today.

Radon Gas is what they want to pipe into your home via your cooking and heating gas. Thanks, but no thanks!!

Location is at the end of Gansevoort St and Hudson River Greenway.

Vote For Me

And I think I must be running out of things to blagh about on this blogging day when I start posting photos like those ones that find themselves posted above in my attempt to maintain web 2.0 social media user generated content for this blog whenever bloggers block possible. And those photos that I came across throughout my travels in internetland on this internet day read something like “VOTE FOR THE POLITICIAN YOU CAN TRUST (with that A for anarchist symbol below those words and then above the words Nobody 2012.” And then there’s that other photo I came across in facebookland that reads something like “Freedom Is A State Of Mind. Political Language Explained. Liberate/Occupy. Transparency/Secrecy. Hope/You’re Screwed. Change/More of the same. Promise/I’m lying. Bail out/Legal robbery. Sustainability/We want you dead. Terrorist/Anyone who stands in our way. War on terror/War of terror. Spreading Democracy/Forcing Imperialism. Citizen/Slave. News/Propaganda. Freedom Fighter/CIA/Private mercenary. Voting/False hope. Central bank/Pyramid Scheme. Conspiracy theorist/Shit, they’re on to us”. And even with those headline news of the day having something to do with that vote for us of a Republican National Convention and a don’t vote for them of an Occupy Tampa and that Hurricane Isaac threatening to wipe and wash everyone out to sea, and gun violence seeming to be never ending so much that that satirical of a newspaper The Onion finds itself with headlines that read Nation Celebrates Full Week Without Deadly Mass Shooting, and those states of New York and New Jersey find themselves under a Frack is wack frack attack, today still finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 347, a few weeks before the anniversary of that global revolution. And Occupy Wall Street is still moving fast. And what, if anything, does this have to do with a No Police State. Occupy Wall Street Worldwide.

Occupy Wall Street Again

So what’s going on with Occupy Wall Street? And the reason why I’m blogger wondering what’s going on with Occupy Wall Street is because I can’t find anything else to web 2.0 user generated content blaghers block post about on this bloggers block day except Occupy Wall Street. And it was either post that Ode To Blogging post again for when that Google page rank update wants to send me in search of a fifth full time job or post about Occupy Wall Street. And so I decided to go with Occupy Wall Street, because hey, they seem to have stuff going on all the time these Occupy Together global revolution days. And so the following seems to find itself as one of the recent posts on their page. Occupy Wall Street Worldwide.

June 30 – July 4: Occupy National Gathering in Philadelphia .

The Occupy National Gathering is a nationally coordinated event which will take place from June 30th to July 4th in Philadelphia. The Occupy movement will convene the Occupy National Gathering in the vicinity of Philadelphia’s Independence Mall for a week of direct actions, movement building and the creation of a vision for a democratic future. The National Gathering will kick off with a massive march with Healthcare-Now! and will conclude on July 5th when attendees will join the Guitarmy for a 99 mile march from Philadelphia to Wall Street in Lower Manhattan.

Perhaps the highlight of the gathering will be the crafting of a Vision of a Democratic Future. On July 4th the National Gathering (#natgat) will facilitate a visioning process designed to allow all voices to be heard while allowing repeat visions to organically rise to the top. Together, by all those who choose to participate, a Vision of a Democratic Future will be conceived. Learn more about this and more here.

And on this day finds itself another one of those Sundays that has rolled around. The day of the sun, the day of rest. The Sabbath. Or is that Saturday? And yet I find myself blah blogging away for some reason or another. And on this day also finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 247. And Occupy Wall Street and those global revolutions of a movements Occupy Together are still moving fast. And according to their website, today is #SolidaritySunday: Fight Back Against State Terrorism! And so I find myself posting that musical scale photo that finds itself posted above that has something to do with the zodiac, astrology, math, physics, art, sound, and simply because I thought it looks really cool. And so have a great day of the sun. Occupy Wall Street Worldwide.

Occupy Music

And I know Music for Occupy is releasing an “Occupy This Album May 15th because that MySpace email that someone sent me with the title “Occupy This Album”, to be released on May 15th, includes my song, “Saving up to Go Bankrupt” says so. And if I must blogger say, that title “Saving up to Go Bankrupt” is a funny title indeed, I think. And that Music For Occupy press release reads something like as follows:

A Concern Of Liberty

And as far as I blogger know, today is Occupy Wall Street Day 188. And Occupy Wall Street and those global revolutions of a movement Occupy Together are still moving fast. And case you haven’t heard as in those photos that find themselves posted above and those headline news of the day, yesterday was a 1,000,000 Hoodie March for Trayvon Martin – #millionhoodies, a tragic story that has been in the headline news lately. And guns are the worst invention ever. If only guns could be banished from every human being on planet earth. I am/we are Trayvon Martin. And yesterday was also an An Occupy Union Square March in response to the eviction of Occupy Wall Street from Zuccotti Park at the six month anniversary, the eviction of Occupy Wall Street from Union Square Park and the closing and curfew of Union Square Park for the first time since who knows when, or something like that. And it was seen throughout my travels in internetland such phrases and commentary as “You murder a kid, you get to go home. Protest a murder, you go to jail. #millionhoodies #OWS via a person” and “Protesters from the #MillionHoodieMarch knocked down the barricades that surrounded the Wall St bull since Occupy Wall Street started 6 months ago.” And “+tompkins square park +Occupy Wall Street +trayvon martin. Heard on global revolution tv. union square park, nyc – “12am curfew, nypd kkk, f***k the police, don’t start no sh*t wont be no sh*t, keep moving, the white shirts, the most high ranking officials in one place, roll call, officers mobilizing and heading this way, undercover officers, paddy wagons, buses, raids, lawyers, mass arrests, taxes, rows of police, over 500 police in the park(hugh?), riot helmets, exit the park announcements, lights, nypd, nlg, parks department, public space, occupiers and something about pensions…?” For what reason are there more police on the streets in the city of new york than people?” And what, if anything, does this have to do with a No Police State. Occupy Wall Street Worldwide.
