And somehow I found myself at Lincoln Center yesterday to watch that concert by the “Spam Allstars” that is part of the Lincoln Center Out of Doors music series at Damrosch Park. And that concert rocked. And all of those events are free. And their performers and performances include, included: Stephane Wrembel, Soledad Barrio, Noche Flamenca, Irma Thomas, Patti Smith, East Village Opera Company, Burkina Electric, Hal Willner, Adam Dorn, Vieux Farka Toure, Cheikh Lo, Mahmoud Ahmed, Alemayehu Eshete, Getatchew Mekurya, Martha Redbone, Vishal Vaid, Taiyo Na, Al Young, Marian Yalini, Regina Carter, Bob Belden, Mose Allison, Roberta Flack, Doug Elkins, Rhys Chatham, Fred Wesley, Betty Harris, Pete Seeger, Josh Haden, Petra Haden and many more. And this music series rocks also.
