The calendar. We all seem to go by it as one of those things to follow in time are far as what to do each day here on planet earth. And what would life be like without one of those pieces of papers with the days of the weeks and holidays marked and written on it to observe and tell us what day of the week, month and year it is. Father time. And then there are those promotional desk calendars. And I have seen them recently, usually during the end of the year at stores that give them away for free with their logo on them. And what better way to get one of those calendars with photos of animals, nature, cars or some other them printed on them along with that venue name, address and other contact information. And does one ever wonder where do these calendars come from and how do they get their names printed on them. Well, I guess they must be one of those promotional calendars to promote their business. And with the invention of the internet, now one can even order those promotional calendars online without having to go to the printers office to print them. And so now whenever I look at one of those calendars on the wall or desk with that business name printed on it, a calendar for all things promotion and time seems to come to mind.

The Aloe Vera Plant

And as a person with one of those blogs in this web 2.0 social media user generated content era, I just had to post those photos of that seemingly anaconda of an aloe vera plant that seems so big and out of control that it seems like it just wants to go to the desert or become part of some National Geographic horticulture project. And what else can I say about that plant, as the photo above seems as if wants to speak for itself.

Hey Bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog, and Bullet Space has an art show going on. I know because that copy of "The Bulletin, The Perfect Crime, curated by Carlo McCormick" and last weeks edition of The Villager Newspaper says so. And from what I remember, Bullet Space is one of those last of the remaining Squats in the neighborhood of the Lower East Side, now called the East Village for real estate marketing purposes maybe, in that city of New York, where if you need a home, take one, that could now be called homesteads that have either been bought out or sold out in the age of gentrification that have survived from that era of Tompkins Square Park and its riots to stop gentrification and free everyone from long lore ago. And Bullet Space has held many an artistic events over the years. And that flyer for their event reads as follows: 292 East 3rd St. New York, New York 10009 (Btwn. Ave C & D), The Perfect Crime, Andrew Castrucci & The Bullet Space Archive, 1983-2008, 25 years, curated by Carlo McCormick. An Urban Artists Collaboration, Nov. 21st-Dec. 20th, 2009. Okay, as far as I know according to that Gregorian calendar on the wall, the end of the year for last year, or this year, has already happened. It's just that this is another one of those post from my other blog that was posted some time a while ago... And the end of the year is making its way around again this year. Okay, from what I know according to that Gregorian calendar on the wall, winter solstice has already passed. It's just that this is another one of those posts I posted on my other blog some time a while ago.... And Winter solstice is fast approaching on the morrow. I know because that Gregorian calendar and all of these winter solstice events that I am seeing advertised says so. And what does the solstice mean anyway as those sol letters seem as if they have something to do with the sun. And I heard someone say the other day that the days get one minute longer or shorter each day leading up to the winter or summer solstice or something. And I think December 21st could be the shortest day of the year I have heard. And it seems to be an astrological event also. And what does that internet bible dictionary Wikipedia have to say about this day, let's see... "A solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice each year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is most inclined toward or away from the Sun, causing the Sun's apparent position in the sky to reach its northernmost or southernmost extreme. The name is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still), because at the solstices, the Sun stands still in declination; that is, the apparent movement of the Sun's path north or south comes to a stop before reversing direction.
