A Scanner
And so I am finding myself sitting here reading one of these police blotters that are to be found in many of a local newspapers with the local crimes of the day with what seems like headlines that movies are made out of. And so I ask myself, what is the purpose of these sections in these papers having titles like "Time out", "Dental damn", "Bank yank", "ring tones" "Beer run" and more. Is ones life to be made into some sort of glorious headline for all to see in the next days newspapers. What is this concept all about, I can not exactly comprehend. And so I turned on the internet in my internetaholics and searched the word "police scanners" and sure enough there is live feed to be found in a state, city or a town near you where on can hear all of those police incidents and emergency phone call responses happen in real life time right over the internet. And for some reason I can not comprehend this concept. And will there always be crime and the glorification of crime as part of this world and society. And it seems as if it is a vicious cycle of some sort of a beast that feeds upon itself, advertising feeds crime which feeds more crime which feeds more news which feeds more advertising, which feeds more crime. And what would happen if there were no crime tomorrow, would a lot of people be out of a job. Where is the world headed. And what, if anything, does this have to do with a No Police State?
