Coptic Calendar

Coptic calendar? You mean everyone in the world does not follow the Gregorian calendar? I've heard of the Mayan calendar, but the Coptic calendar? There was an article in yesterdays newspaper (Which was actually last years paper by now when it comes to this George Orwellian like blog here...,) titled "Ethiopia: Coptic Millennium", and the article says, Ethiopia, which follows the Coptic calendar, which is based on the ancient Egyptian calendar, is ringing in he 21st century with all night parties and concerts. What? Does that mean they will be adjusting their computers for that y2k thing like the rest of the world went through seven years ago. That's interesting how another part of the world can live seven years behind in time from another part of the world. How does that work? Is that a different year zone? Does that affect their age? And how do the Ethiopians fill out those bureaucratic paperwork forms with a different year? What if they were to move to a different part of the world, can they still use the same date. How does that work. How does one calculate time; the days, seasons and solar years. How interesting.
