Actorfest
Lights, Camera, Action! So you wanna be a star? Or maybe you
just want to look like one, or maybe you just want to be an actor, or
maybe not. Well, if you are into acting or wanna be into acting or
looking to advance your career or even if you are just passing by the
area and want to take a look inside, Actorfest
is calling all actors this year (Which was actually last year by the time I post this, as this blog seems as if it wants to confuse me sometimes in its Orwellianess in my attepmt to maintain more than one blog...), October 13th at the Manhattan Center
Studios, Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, big city of dreams.
It's the festival of actors time again and there will be a free exhibit
hall, networking cafe and workshops. Every year tons and tons actors,
singers, dancers, performing artists and other people meet face to face
with tons and tons of agents, casting directors, acting teachers, vocal
coaches, headshot photographers, and everything and everyone acting
related in the known universe under the sun.
Workshops and Exhibitors will include: Actors Access, Actors' Equity Association, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, American Federation of Television and Recording Artists, Breakthrough Studios, Extras Access, Henderson Enterprises, Melody Jones Voiceovers, Modernage Digital Imaging Labs, New York Film Academy, NY Speech Improvement Services, Screen Actors Guild, Shakespeare and Company, ShowFax, SKheadshots.com, The Network, The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, TVI Actors Studios NY, Todd Thaler, Weist Barron, William Esper Studio, Hughes Moss Casting, NBC Universal, ABC, Disney Theatricals, Nickelodeon and Telemundo and many many more. Be There. Be Seen. Get Noticed. And be sure to remember to look for that copy of Backstage newspaper for that casting call opportunity, and bring those business cards, postcards, headshots and resumes to drop off and leave at the exhibitor booths and casting directors tables and smile, as you may be on candid camera.
